UPDATE: Goldie's precious mother is now in the arms of Jesus as of Sunday June 22. Now Goldie must not only navigate the past expenses for her mother's care but now faced with burial expenses and plans as well. Please help if you can at all.

Hello. I'm sharing this today with a heavy heart, hoping for others to help shine a little light in a very dark time.

In 2023, Goldie moved back home to help her dad care for her mother, who has advanced Parkinson’s and dementia. She needed constant support, and they worked as a team to make sure she was safe and loved.

Then, everything changed.

On February 22, 2024, Goldie's father passed away suddenly. Her world was shattered overnight.

Since then, she has been her mother’s sole caregiver. In April, she was hospitalized and then moved into a nursing home. She didn’t come home until June 6, 2025 — and now she’s on hospice. She can no longer walk and requires 24/7 care.

Goldie is trying to hold everything together but has exhausted all of her savings. She cashed out her 401(k), paid off what she could, and tried to keep up with the crushing costs — between $8,000 to $9,000 a month — just to cover her mother's medical and care needs. She has now maxed out all of her credit cards on living expenses.

Then, in March 2025, Goldie lost her job — not because she wasn’t performing, but because she couldn’t relocate back to Texas while caring for her mom full-time. Because they called it a performance issue, she wasn’t eligible for unemployment.

Now she has absolutely no income. Her mom’s small Social Security check and dad’s pension go toward her mother's care, but they aren’t enough. Goldie has fallen behind on everything — utilities, car payments, medical bills. Creditors are calling. Her car is at risk of being repossessed. She was recently notified a few weeks ago that her mom was being “discharged” from the nursing home for unpaid bills.

Friends are helping with food, to which she is so grateful — but she can’t expect them to cover basic living expenses, too.

Goldie has always worked hard and tried to do the right thing, but has run out of options. She desperately needs help. Every donation — no matter how small — will go directly to keeping her and her mother housed, keeping the lights on, caring for her mom with dignity, and giving her time to breathe.
