Help Gio Receive Life-Saving Care

On March 6, nearly 2 year old Gio, suffered a tragic drowning accident while visiting family in Honduras. Gio is a citizen of the United States and lives in Jacksonville, Florida.

Gio was underwater for an unknown amount of time. Rescuers began working to revive him and a faint pulse returned after about eight minutes. He is currently on life support in the ICU in a medically induced coma. His prognosis is still unknown.

He is being treated at Hospital del Valle, a private hospital in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The hospital requires $4,000 per day in prepaid medical costs in order to continue care. If this amount is not paid each morning, the hospital will discontinue care and Gio will not survive. The family is doing everything they can to keep treatment going, but the financial burden is immediate and overwhelming.

This fundraiser will help cover his emergency medical care and daily hospital costs while doctors work to stabilize him. Once stabilized enough to be moved, Gio will need med evac transport home to the United States to continue his care.
