My name is Ghazal Ranjkesh.

In 2022, I was shot in my right eye and permanently lost my vision in that eye. That single moment changed the course of my life forever.

Since then, I have faced criminal charges, ongoing security threats, and repeated court appearances. For a period of time, I was banned from leaving my country and lived in constant fear and uncertainty. In January, I experienced further traumatic events that continue to affect me every day.

After a long period of forced displacement, I have now left the country where I had been staying temporarily. However, I am still not in a safe place and do not have secure legal status. I am living in an extremely unstable situation and urgently need support to reach a safe country where I can finally begin rebuilding my life.

Physically, I continue to live with the lasting consequences of my injury. Losing my right eye has required ongoing medical care and the continued use of ocular prostheses, which are essential to my daily life but are also very expensive.

Creating this fundraiser was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made. I never imagined I would have to ask others for help, but I have reached a point where I cannot continue this journey alone.
