Urgent Help for Fio’s Sudden Fungal Infection
Donation protected
Hi guys. July 2, we went camping in the upper peninsula. Since then, we saw her regurgitate her food on and off and realized she was rapidly losing weight. In only a month, she’s lost 15lbs.
Her healthy weight is 60lbs and she now weighs 47lbs.
We tested for GI issues, Lyme, blastomycosis and parasites and all came back negative.
Ultrasounds and X-rays showed her abdominal and esophageal lymph nodes extremely enlarged so we suspected it was lymphoma. Today, we got the call that it was not lymphoma but instead a fungal infection. They do not know which fungus it is but we have to act fast to keep her stabilized and start treatment.
Treatment includes:
- Hospitalization 1 week or more to get a feeding tube so she’s finally able to digest food and get nutritions.
- Start heavy oral and iv anti fungal treatment. (Itraconazole oral and Amphothericin IV hospitalized)
This starts at 20k.
We’ve spent about 6k of our own in testing to try to find a diagnosis and Fio has a proper fighting chance.
If you have anything to pitch in, we really really appreciate it. Please keep her in your prayers, send any good energy you have. We can get Fio out of this.
