Hi, thanks for visiting our page. Finn is our (Alec and Bre) 4 year old golden-doodle with no prior health problems. On Friday of last week (01/10), Finn stopped eating. On Saturday he began vomiting and has not stopped. We saw our vet today, 01/13, to see what was going on. He was found to have really high liver labs, severe dehydration, and no clear mass on his xray. He needs to stay overnight in the hospital and get an ultrasound and further testing. The hospitalization alone can range from $2,000-3,000 nightly. At this time they are anticipating 2-3 days. His clinic visit was $672. We will keep this page updated as we learn more.

Finn is very loved. He is sassy, funny, and loves playing with his brother Chandler. Seeing him so sick and tired has been very scary. We are asking for assistance as this comes at a particularly difficult time. Alec is a ICU nurse and Bre is a 4th year medical student. In March, Bre will be finding out where she matches for residency which could mean a cross country move. We have been trying to save to prepare for that possibility. However, given Bre does not have an income that has been slow. Now those savings will need to go towards Finns medical care.

Currently funds are going towards:

-ICU level of care ($2000)

-Fresh frozen plasma ($500/unit)

-Repeat labs (~$2000 in total)

-Ultrasound ($600)

-Emergency vet costs ($500)

-IV fluids and liver protectants ($600)

Any additional funds not required for hospital pay will be donated towards the California Wildfires.
