Hello everyone. A family intertwined with ours awoke to their carbon monoxide detector going off. After clearing the air, the HVAC company came and turned the gas off. Their 1959 furnace heat exchanger cracked, releasing toxins into their home. As you know, it’s been rarely above zero this last 4 weeks. The matriarch is currently in chemotherapy treatment and doing daily self-dialysis, and the patriarch is disabled with early onset memory loss. They are in desperate need of assistance. Their home was built around the coal furnace that was converted to fuel oil and later to natural gas. There are zero chances to repair it. It’s a 2-day job just to remove the original furnace and another 2 days to install and replace all the ductwork and returns.
Anything you can do is help. Even if it’s just $1. 14,000 people get this goal accomplished.
Mr. was a social worker and helped people his entire career. Mrs. was a property manager for low-income housing. They are the kindest, most genuine people and would do anything for someone that asked. Currently, they are using dangerous electric heaters.
An amazing HVAC company is currently working to replace the system while we raise funds.
Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this. And if you were able to help, God bless you. Everyone will tell you that I don’t ask for help for anything, but this is an emergency and these people mean a great deal to my family.
I’ve been struggling with how to help, to be honest. My daughter, who never asks for anything, reached out and asked me if we could help. It pained me to not be able to handle this without a GoFundMe. But yet here we are.
The funds will be used to pay the HVAC company for the replacement furnace installation.
