We desperately need your help to survive this heat. On May 1st of this year, the local trash company was picking up trash and got tangled up in the wires overhead, ripping out all of the electricity to our house. So far, they have refused to fix anything or do anything to help us. There are five of us here, including a 72-year-old mother-in-law who has dementia and has to use a CPAP machine, which of course takes electricity, and my autistic son who is 29 and has the mind of a child. This has turned our lives upside down. We have bought a generator and have been running on a generator for 53 days now.
We do have an attorney that is helping us but as of Friday, he told us it could be up to a year before we get the case in front of a judge. We are struggling in this summer heat here; the house is 80 degrees. I have gone through all of our savings just to keep us running with a generator. The gas alone is costing us over $280 a week. I'm asking to please share this with your churches, your businesses, anyone that could possibly donate something. This amount is just to get the electrical done as the summer months approach quickly. I can only imagine how hot this house is going to get. We urgently need your help.
UPDATE:
PLEASE SHARE
It got up to 85 in the house yesterday, we moved to 3 rooms and waited out the hottest parts of the day :(
We are still waiting to hear back from the electrician who has contacted the owners of the company to see if they will work with us!
Please share on ALL of your social media accounts to help us spread the word!!!
UPDATE: The electrical contractors can't work with us, they simpy don't do any type of financing :(
We have used the funds raised so far to buy a 2nd generator to split the power more evenly in the house to help the A/C units to run better. Running on one generator was just too much! For the first time last night we all slept without sweating to death!
Please continue to share on ALL of your social media accounts!
