A Roof for My Family in Gabon Before the Rainy Season

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Strangers,

I am reaching out today with an urgent and heartfelt plea for help. My family in Gabon, Central Africa, is facing a crisis: the roof of their home has been severely damaged, and with the rainy season rapidly approaching, they are at risk of losing everything. I live in the United States, so I can’t be there in person to assist them, but I feel a deep responsibility to do everything I can to support them from afar.

The Situation:

My family’s home is in a region of Gabon where the rainy season brings months of relentless downpours. Over time, the roof has deteriorated due to age, harsh weather conditions, and lack of resources. Recently, a major leak has left parts of the house exposed to the elements. With the rains coming fast, I’m deeply worried that the roof could collapse entirely, putting my elderly and sick father, two sisters, and their children in immediate danger. Without a roof, they will have nowhere to stay.

Why We Need Your Help:

The cost to repair or replace the roof is beyond what my family can afford. We’ve tried patching it up, but without sufficient funds, there is no way to make the necessary repairs before the rains begin. The urgency of time is critical—we only have a couple of months before the rainy season starts. Without a solid roof, their home is at risk of being destroyed, leaving them without shelter and vulnerable to health issues such as water damage, flooding, and mold.

The Goal:

We need $ 15,000 to completely replace the roof. This will cover the cost of materials, labor, and any other necessary repairs to ensure the home is safe for my family to live in.
