Hello Everyone,

I never expected to write this, but unfortunately, due to the fires going on in California, one has affected my close family members.

Along with two major wildfires currently going on, the Eaton Fire sparked yesterday, Tuesday afternoon due to strong winds and has burned almost 3,000 acres of land. By the Eaton Canyon is Altadena, where my family members reside. Once the fire began, they had to evacuate around midnight because of rapid growth with no time to get any valuables.

Today, Wednesday morning the fire has unfortunately reached their home and burned down everything they had. They are a family of 5, an elderly couple in their mid 70’s who housed their daughter, a single mother of 2 whom are my cousins.

I am now asking for any help you are all able to provide, anything will help to get this family back on their feet and a warm place to sleep. They are going to face a sufficient amount of economical challenges considering their grandpa is retired and only has his social security retirement fund to rely on and their grandma is a diabetic who needs medication daily. The fire not only took their home but everything they depended on.

Unfortunately, the fire is still burning and they have not been able to go back to the remains, to see if anything is even left. Altadena, Pasadena and surrounding areas have been fully evacuated and closed down because of this wildfire and its dangerous conditions.

Nunca esperé escribir esto, pero desafortunadamente, debido a los incendios que están sucediendo en California, uno ha afectado a los miembros cercanos de mi familia.

Junto con dos grandes incendios forestales actualmente en marcha, el incendio de Eaton se desencadenó ayer, martes por la tarde, debido a los fuertes vientos y ha quemado casi 3.000 acres de tierra. Junto al Cañón Eaton está Altadena, donde residen los miembros de mi familia. Una vez que comenzó el incendio, tuvieron que evacuar alrededor de la medianoche debido al rápido crecimiento sin tiempo para conseguir ningún objeto de valor.

Hoy, miércoles por la mañana, el fuego desafortunadamente ha llegado a su casa y ha quemado todo lo que tenían. Son una familia de 5, una pareja de ancianos de unos 70 años que albergaba a su hija, una madre soltera de 2 hijos que son mis primos.

Ahora estoy pidiendo cualquier ayuda que todos puedan proporcionar, cualquier cosa ayudará a que esta familia vuelva a ponerse de pie y a un lugar cálido para dormir. Se enfrentarán a una cantidad suficiente de desafíos económicos teniendo en cuenta que su abuelo está jubilado y solo tiene su fondo de jubilación de la seguridad social en el que confiar y su abuela es diabética que necesita medicamentos a diario. El fuego no solo se llevó su hogar, sino todo de lo que dependían.

Desafortunadamente, el fuego sigue ardiendo y no han podido volver a los restos, para ver si queda algo. Altadena, Pasadena y las áreas circundantes han sido completamente evacuadas y cerradas debido a este incendio forestal y sus peligrosas condiciones.
