My daughter and I have been displaced and I’ve now also been affected by the furlough, which has made our situation even more difficult. My daughter has been working odd jobs to help us stay afloat, but it hasn’t been enough to cover all of our expenses.

We’ve been staying in an extended stay hotel to avoid sleeping in our car, and while I used what funds I had to cover that cost, it has left me unable to save the $1,800 needed for our housing deposit. We were recently approved for a housing, but it will only be held until November 1st.

I’ve done everything I can to manage this on my own, but without any family support—aside from my daughter—it has been extremely challenging. Any amount of help would mean so much to us as we work to get back on our feet and into stable housing.
