Just One Final Push Needed—Disabled Homeowners Need Your Last-Minute Support!

Jay and Michelle Matthiessen have spent their lives in Ponca City, Oklahoma, surrounded by family, memories, and the small comforts of home. But now, after years of struggle, they are facing the unimaginable: losing the only home they have left—right before winter.

It began with heartbreak. After Michelle’s mother passed away, Jay and Michelle tried their best to pick up the pieces and hold on to the house that’s been in their family for generations—a home filled with memories, laughter, and love. Jay, even after multiple surgeries and injuries, continued showing up for work at 7 Clans, as he has for 13 years. Michelle has battled daily seizures, unable to work or find stability, and has cared for their cherished fur babies through it all.

Then another blow: a water leak that spiraled out of control, leading to rising bills they simply couldn’t keep up with after so much loss. With no support, their electricity and water were shut off in March. For months, they have tried to survive without the most basic things, by candlelight, with hope running out.

Their credit ruined by medical bills and crisis after crisis, they couldn’t even get a loan against their own paid-off home to consolidate their bills and restore their dignity. Now, Ponca City code enforcement is on the verge of boarding up their home and putting Jay, Michelle, and their pets out onto the street if they can’t pay the electric bill—just as the cold arrives.

• The original electric bill was $4,155. They’ve paid it down to $2,150 through desperate effort.
• The power company will deduct $850 for their water leak, but $1,150 remains—money they simply don’t have.
• A kind plumber is doing all he can to fix the leak, but can’t do more until the power is back on.
• The Department of Human Services can’t help them until December—by then, their home could be lost forever.

Jay and Michelle have lost so much—parents, health, hope. This home is their last connection to family and safety. Without immediate help, they’ll lose not just their house, but their last piece of peace in the world.

Please, if you can, give anything at all. Don’t let a local, generational family be left in the dark and cold, losing the only thing they have left.

Your kindness may be the only thing standing between this family and heartbreak beyond repair.
