Last night, my friend’s beloved cat, Dilly, was killed by a firetruck in Hill in front of her and her 10-year-old son. She is a single mother who, as it is, barely makes ends meet and hasn't even a yard in which to bury Dilly. Obviously, she doesn't want to just discard him, especially with her son already so traumatized, but she must do something as quickly as possible. I am soliciting donations on her behalf, hoping, with a little help, to provide her with the money to have her beloved fur baby cremated. Please give what you can, if you can. Even if you are only able to give a few dollars, please donate. Every little bit helps.
The first time I shared this, some people thought I was blaming the fire department or that I thought the cat more important than the property and people waiting for the fire dept, and I received a lot of indignant responses, including many who cruelly went straight to blaming the cats' owners for the loss. (Dilly was an outdoor cat they rescued & he wouldn't stay in the house).
This post was not intended to blame anyone for this tragic accident. It was meant to ask for a little help for a traumatized woman & her son who lost their beloved pet from anyone compassionate enough to want to help and able to afford to donate a few dollars.
Thank you for anything you can do.
