I recently moved to Northern California after accepting a traveling speech therapy position for Butte County. Unfortunately, after moving here in the beginning of December, I've been hospitalized twice due to throwing out my back. I've battled chronic back pain since I was 14. I had my first back surgery just over 4 years ago, which left me pain-free for 2 years. I was told by my orthopedic surgeon I would more than likely need another surgery down the line, and it is what I'm facing now. My second trip to the hospital consisted of me calling 911 for myself because I couldn't move at all. I was in the hospital for a week where I received an emergency MRI and was told I need back surgery urgently to keep me from permanent nerve damage as well as drop foot. During this time, I lost my job since I have limited mobility, and it's left me in a tough spot. I am grateful for any kind of help as it is to help meet basic needs of groceries, gas, medical equipment, medicine, and medical bills.
