Urgent Help for Dave's Home Care Needs
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kathy. I am the fiancé to this wonderful man, Dave. Dave had his third stroke in May 2024. It was massive. Since his stroke, he has been in a nursing home. He is being fed by a g-tube. He has a trach and cannot speak. Dave is on oxygen. He is confined to his bed. His left side of his body is so weak, he can barely move his left arm and cannot move his left leg. The only time he gets out of his bed is when the staff take him for a shower, or on the rare occasion of sitting in a Gerry chair.
I feel he is neglected at the nursing home. His horrendous bed sore and the occasional bloody scabs on his head and knee are only a couple of things that make me say this. I NEED to bring him home. I have been fighting since July to bring him home.
We are so close to bringing him home. There are things I still need to purchase to make this feasible. The main items are a handicap van and a geriatric wheelchair. The state takes his full retirement check every month, minus $50. With all his hospital bills along with our household bills, there is no way I can afford either of these. (I just had major surgery and a stroke myself in February 2024. I was hospitalized for a month, so my medical bills are really high as well.)
I really hate asking for help, especially financial help, but I have no other options. If you can help us, we would be so grateful. If you cannot, could you please just say a prayer? Thank you!
