I haven’t been able to talk about this much publicly but I feel now it is important for people to know the truth about what is going on. I have been on a waiting list since last year to receive gender affirming care and was suppose to have surgery this upcoming Monday. Because of everything going on in the federal government my insurance is no longer providing me with my medications or any gender affirming care at all. In fact, no major insurance provider through the federal government is providing gender affirming care in the state of Georgia at all anymore. Two weeks ago I found out that my surgery had been denied as well as an appeal from my doctor. I’ve actually been trying to get my medication for the past three months and didn’t know that this was why I hadn’t been able to. All this to say I am trying my best to stay vigilant and optimistic. I have filed an appeal and will be looking into other options hopefully in April but I want to reach out to this community for support. I had to be taken off the schedule for surgery and won’t be able to get back on until I come up with the funds or get this sorted out through insurance. If you can support me through this process I would be deeply grateful. If you can’t support financially and would like to support me in another way I will be needing community care once I do have surgery and will be posting more info about that once I have it. Thank you for your time and may we all continue to get through these next few years together, with the help and support of each other. Thank you and I love you.
