Hello friends, we are asking for support on behalf of Courtney, a beloved member of the Southeastern Native community and many other communities as well. She is someone who has worked tirelessly to give to her family and community for many years.

Courtney has been faced with back-to-back stress, loss, and grief for an extended period and it has resulted in serious medical issues. Courtney has developed a spontaneous coronary artery dissection in the left anterior descending artery (SCAD). This comes with a demand to make several life changes to reduce stress and physical demand.

Courtney will need support both financially and through daily support. For example, Courtney cannot physically lift her daughter ever again, or anything over 40 pounds for that matter, meaning that she will need help with childcare. Courtney is a caretaker to her mother as well and will no longer be able to do this, creating another financial need for the family. Courtney also cannot work and her husband will need to take a leave from work for at least a few months to help with caretaking, which leaves them in an even more tight financial place than they already were. There will also be a large amount of medical bills the family will need help with.
