We got the prognosis & unfortunately he has a blood clot & is having heart failure. He's our first cat & oldest animal (6 years old) & we love him so much. He will have to be on medication the rest of his life but he can live. He's responding to the oxygen machine & that's a good sign. If we can't help him he'll die & that's not what we want or can handle. Luckily the lovely people at URvet Care took a $6000 bill down to $2000. The vet gave Chester up to a year longer with us if he gets through this tough time & the blood clots thin. He's a strong boy & he will live as long as he wants to but we also told him he can go if he's tired or ready. We want to spend as much time with him as we can but never want to keep our animals around for selfish reasons. This money will go to his vet bills and/or other emergency situations.
Chester’s Story:
One day after work on August 28th, 2018 I came home from a tiring day at work & hear a weird noise in my hallway. I then see a small kitten turn the corner & start rubbing & purring on me. We were all terrified of cats so I was like what is going on here...why did the cat distribution system choosing me WE ARE DOG PEOPLE . I proceed to open my door & this kitten sits on my foot. Now I'm standing there with a kitten on my foot telling my sister & mom that we have to take this baby in & I cannot leave it outside. We take the cat in & I got downstairs to buy some food & litter. The first few nights he slept in my room & boy was I in for an abusive treat . As I slept those nights he would randomly attack my legs in the middle of the night haha. I absolutely hated it & he frightened me. We chose the name Chester after Chester Bennington from Linkin Park because we loved the band & he had just recently committed suicide the year prior. Chester was the perfect name.
We already had our dog Bella & he was not afraid of her. They will fight & then sleep with each other. They loved each other & he was heartbroken that one night we didn't come home with her because we had to put her to sleep. He missed her & would look for her.
NOW fast forward this boy has gotten such a big fur family. He gets a little stressed out & has his alone time sun bathing in my sister's room haha but he definitely loves his new brothers & sister.
He's an amazing & lovable cat. He honestly feels like our emotional support cat. When I went through my breakup I developed terrible anxiety. Chester would literally lay on my chest every night & purr & comfort me. Whenever I'm alone & he sees me having a breakdown he comes & comforts me & rubs on me while purring. He's sooooo special.
Please help save this sweet boy.
