Hello Friends, as many of you know, I'm Cherice Henderson. Long time resident of Wichita, KS who also lived for 3 years in Tulsa, OK.

While employed mostly in the Commercial & Home alarm, proprietary software, and health insurance industries as my main methods of supporting myself. For most of my life I have been very involved in local theatre, mostly non-profit volunteer groups. I served on the Board of Directors for Wichita Community Theatre, many small troupes; and most recently Theatre On Consignment where I served as Executive Director for 6 of their 10 years. I would also act, direct, produce, write and have done every job on a theatre organizational that exists since 1990. I had basically worked 2 full time jobs -- employment & Theatre until my health started failing.

I had to give up theatre so I would have enough energy to support myself, and with my latest diagnosis it is nearly impossible to work.

Many of you know of my older conditions of Fibromyalgia, uncontrolled Type 2 Diabetes, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Heart Disease, Etc. my most recent of Narcolepsy leaves me passing out and falling a lot. Most recently falling and breaking both bones in my lower left leg. Requiring surgery, rehab and a dear hand full of friends looking after me for 8 weeks until I could be in a walking boot for another 8 weeks. Which is where I am now. Also, while out on short term leave from work, trying to get treatment for the Narcolepsy, I had a heart attack and triple bypass surgery. The company I was working for denied me long term disability under their plans, and I was let go. My savings is long gone. Very close Friends have helped me with expenses, etc. until they no longer can help.

I am hoping all my friends and friends of friends can help some and it will all add up until KanCare (Medicaid) or SSDI can be approved and kick in.

Where I am currently living was sold. The new co. raised my rent by 125.00 which I couldn't afford before this raise. I need to raise Sept. rent and rent/deposit to move to somewhere smaller and cheaper, for Oct. and beyond. My current rent is $820.00 My utilities are all behind and in danger of being shut off. Elect. Gas, internet & Water. My cell phone is prepaid through Dec. So that is the only thing that is up to date at this point. I am getting a low income rate for internet and am working on not losing EBT food assistance that needed paperwork when I was laid up in hospital and rehab to keep from canceling. I am planning to go to their office in A.M. I also have to pay for all of my +20 medications out of pocket and have no health coverage.

I am literally BEGGING for help so I don't end up homeless, without medications, and losing most of my possessions. If I can get my meds my conditions will all spiral out of control. The place I live now serves 3 day evictions all the time. If you can help with any amount please do and I thank you from the bottom of my broken old heart. If you can't... I understand. Perhaps you would share this with your friends. Maybe that could help me get to goals needed.
