Please Help Get Carlos Home!!

Carlos and Vickie Ramirez went to Mazatlán for their annual trip a few weeks ago. However, on October 11h, Carlos collapsed. He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, and was hospitalized in the ICU with a major medical emergency.  He was put on a ventilator. Additional medical issues have arisen, and he is still in serious condition in the ICU. 

Their health insurance doesn't cover any medical expenses or hospitalizations out of the country. Hospitals in Mexico require payment up front. Vickie has already paid $18,000. They have no additional funds available. The doctor's fee is separate, and so far that expense is $5,000, which Vickie put on a credit card. The hospital is now asking for an additional $27,000 toward Carlos' hospital fees & increasing daily.

Vickie is currently splitting her time between the hospital and staying with friends. She has tried to obtain assistance from the Consulate, without any success thus far. Once Carlos is stable we need to get him home, possibly via ground transport as he may not be able to fly. Your generosity will allow us to help him get the treatment he needs and to leave as soon as he is medically stable. Thank you very much.
