I am doing this fundraiser to help my family to raise money to buy the supplies needed to rebuild my son’s room that was completely destroyed in last weekend’s catastrophic flash flood.

We just finished making this room for him this year. The flood came through our basement wall unexpectedly and flooded the entire basement, including the new walls and carpeted floors of my younger son’s room.

A lot of his belongings were ruined and will need to be replaced, as well as the drywall, flooring and door of his room.

People in town might know my older son, Caleb of Caleb’s dump runs, Southbury’s teen with a truck whose been doing junk removal for 3 years. I grew up here in Southbury and currently manage the Taekwondo school in town.

I have always encouraged my boys to help others and try to do the same. I hate asking for help but this is too important to not do everything in my power to fix.

Our insurance won’t cover anything and we have to get the room completely empty, cleaned and rebuilt quickly as we live in a tiny place and the room is essential to my family. We have already done most of the cleanup and will be tearing down drywall tomorrow.

Thus upcoming school year is paramount for my boys, especially my younger son and rebuilding his room and replacing his belongings is an essential element in his success.
