I am Buket TAN, an Alevi Kurdish woman. Turkey did not give me the chance to live because of my race and religion. I took refuge in the USA and have been in San Diego for 6 months. I can't pay my lawyer for my asylum case. I don't have a work permit. I am all alone here. I have cancer. The USA doctors are doing their best to cure me. In order to get the treatment I need, I have to stay in the United States. I am very thankful to the doctors and this country. In order to stay here, I have to pay my lawyer 12 thousand dollars.
