Well, it’s a bit long but here we go! We are a family raising for our fur child who has begun to have seizures and are currently dealing with a severely strained budget on top of trying to cover treatment, blood work, etc. to diagnose the exact issue and get correct preventative treatment
(Story time) Bruce came into our life 4 years ago at the perfect time! My wife and I had just gone through a tubular pregnancy in which her tube burst and we almost lost her. After some time and a lot of ups and downs from the loss, a friend of ours came to us with the adorable 8-week-old Frenchie puppy and we absolutely fell in love! Our friend, seeing the joy and love this little guy brought back into our life, decided he belonged with us ❤️
Fast forward 4 years later and he is our world, so much more than a pet; he is our soul son! Even our 18-year-old refers to him as his little brother ❤️ Unfortunately, in these past four years, we haven’t seemed to catch a break. We went from doing quite well to my handyman company taking a massive hit from COVID to the point I had to take on a factory job. The next year, our car died after throwing so much money at it, our only option being to take out a personal loan so we could both have a car to work (then came getting laid off). The following year, that car's transmission went out, $3400 later for a new transmission only to trust a bad mechanic who did bad work (mind you, now out of savings) and ruined the car, now sitting in my driveway under a tarp with 6k still owed. Then this year (yesterday, 7/29/25, mind you my wife’s birthday), Bruce had his first ever seizure which I woke up to in a chaotic panic at 4 am. I rushed him into the ER vet with $100 to my name after paying all of our bills for them to tell me the bill is $175 and just covers them to look at him, nothing further (also offers free visit if issue happens again within 24 hrs). $600 if I want them to prescribe epilepsy meds and do blood work and another almost $5000 for the remainder of tests and follow-up visits We just don’t have it right now, so last night/tonight 7/30/25 Bruce again woke me and my wife up having a seizure at 1:20 am, so we rushed him back in after calling and them telling us to rush in for the free visit only for them to say, well, you only paid $100, so unless you have the $75, we can’t help!. We are at our wits' end and our family really needs a break. My wife is putting in 60 hrs a week, I’m working 2 jobs, and our son helps, but we are living paycheck to paycheck with just above minimum wage jobs!
Bruce is our everything and we desperately need him to be ok!
all donations will be used towards vet visits, blood work, and further testing
update7/31/25
found a more reasonably priced vet they gave us a pro bono initial check up and evaluation, and created a care plan for us
$600.00 for bloodwork, urine & stool, lime multiplex, kidney and liver pannel
$3000.00+ for CT/Brain activity scan
he desperately needs these so we can diagnose exactly what the cause of his seizures are so that we can find the correct treatment moving forward to ensure Bruce lives along and happy life!
our small family, greatly appreciates any help! We thank you for your time and hope you have a blessed day
update 8/1/25
we took him in as they called us with a cancellation, so got us in sooner that day 7/31/25
We absolutely loved these people and loved this place. They were so good to us so good to Bruce. We were able to get the 600$ blood work covered as they offer payment plans. That being said we still desperately need to be able to cover the brain scan and CT that is not carried under the payment plan due to the fact that it takes a specialist!
we appreciate everyone who has been able to donate so far in for the numerous amount of shares! God bless all of you! With love-Thompson family
