Our beloved Beverly recently suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhagic stroke, a life-threatening condition caused by bleeding around the brain.
After being rushed to the hospital, doctors performed an initial CT scan followed by a specialized brain scan to determine the exact source of the bleeding. The results confirmed that the bleeding is coming from an aneurysm in a major blood vessel in her brain. Because of the bleeding and pressure on the brain, Beverly has become extremely drowsy and at times drifts in and out of consciousness. Doctors are monitoring her very closely as her condition remains critical.
To help prevent further brain damage and complications, the doctors have prescribed a critical medication called Nimodipine 60 mg. This medication is essential in protecting the brain after this type of stroke and reducing the risk of additional damage. Unfortunately, the cost of this medication alone is $328,430 JMD ($2,189 USD), which has placed a significant financial strain on the family.
The neurosurgeon has confirmed that Beverly urgently needs to undergo brain surgery to repair the aneurysm and stop the bleeding. The procedure will require specialized surgical clips and other critical medical materials.
The total cost for the surgery, surgical materials, and hospital expenses is estimated at $5,500,000 JMD ($36,666 USD).
Doctors have explained that this is a time-sensitive situation, and the surgery is necessary to give Beverly the best possible chance of survival and recovery.
