My name is Austin, and that's my mom Crystal. We have been homeless with our two pets, Igby the dog and Mitzy the cat, since 2-2-22. We are disabled, and Mom works a part time job at an elementary school library. My father passed away in July, and life has been even harder without him here. We depended on his disability check and the income I earned as his caretaker which I had lost out on due to us being homeless. I was recently hospitalized for something wrong with my heart which I am in the process of getting tested for, but those tests aren't scheduled until the end of December. Mom and I just had our phones are turned off as I couldn't afford to pay the bill. We have to move motels on Friday as they only allow guests to stay for two to three weeks at a time depending on the locations rules. We can only pay for one more nights rent at the moment, maybe two if we are extremely lucky and I am extremely frugal with the funds we have remaining. That means come Saturday or Sunday we will be on the street and figuring out where to park safely at night and how we are going to manage to sleep in the car with all of our stuff filling it up and the pets who do not get along at all. At least until the 10th when Mom gets her partial check and we can pay for maybe three more days. Not looking forward to it, but it's been nearly four years so perhaps it's just our time. I wanted to humbly ask you all for anything you could spare to send out way to help us get by a bit longer. Mom and I have both been sick with head colds the last few days and I'm just so stressed and worried about what we are going to do this month. There are tears in my eyes when I think of it, but I suppose it could always be worse somehow. I don't want to think about the way past due car registration, the storage with all of our belongings from before we were homeless inside of it which is due, food money, gas, the phones, etc just yet as my main focus is shelter.
