Hello, my name is Ashleigh Howell, and I’m reaching out during a very difficult time for both me and my partner, Robert. We are currently facing a series of serious challenges that have left us without basic necessities and struggling to stay afloat.
Both Robert and I are dealing with ongoing health issues while we await approval for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) — a process that takes time we unfortunately don’t have. As a result, we’ve fallen behind on rent, and even the cost of maintaining our P.O. box — our lifeline for important documents — has become unmanageable.
We currently live in an RV that does not have a working bathroom, heating, or cooling, and the electrical breaker is dangerously unstable. Despite these conditions, we are doing our best to hold on, survive, and seek long-term solutions.
We are working closely with a case manager from Mysti's Adult and Family Services, who is actively helping us connect with housing options and critical community resources. However, due to high demand for services across Washington State, progress is slow and options are limited.
That’s why we’re turning to you — our community, friends, and compassionate strangers — to ask for help. Whether it’s $5, $50, or simply sharing our story, any support is deeply appreciated. Funds raised will go toward:
Stabilizing our housing situation
Covering essential needs like hygiene supplies and utilities
Keeping our P.O. box and communications active
Helping us repair or find safe shelter beyond the RV
We believe in a hand-up, not a handout, and your support could be the bridge we need to regain safety and stability. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and consider helping us during this urgent and uncertain time.
With deep gratitude,
Ashleigh & Robert
