Urgent help for an elderly cat please
Donation protected
Please can you urgently help my friend (Claire's) cat, 'Fatty'.
Fatty is 14 years old & has been poorly for a few weeks now. She has been seen by a charity Vets a few times but each time is given a different diagnosis. She's been put on 2 medications which don't seem to be making her better. As it stands as of Monday 30th December, Fatty hasn't been able to pass stool for 5 days & is no longer eating. Lactulose isn't working & the same Vets she saw again today (Monday 30th December) wouldn't give her an enema as "there was no one there who could do it" & seemed disinterested in looking to help her further.
Claire & her family understandably would like another opinion & would like to see a local Vet that isn't a charity Vet. Like most of us in this cost of living crisis, the family are really struggling financially. Unfortunately Claire's husband is disabled & she is his carer, so neither of them are able to work & so finances are extremely tight.
Any donations are greatly, greatly appreciated. At the moment we have set the target at £450 as it's quite likely that Fatty will need some further investigations, possibly medications etc. If there is any money leftover after the Vet bill, then this will be used on really high quality food for her to hopefully prevent any further stomach issues.
Please, please help if you can or sharing is greatly appreciated. The family lost one of their cats at the beginning of last year & then very sadly lost their dog last Summer. It would be absolutely devastating for them to lose another one of their pets, so we would really like Fatty to have further investigations & a definite diagnosis to help her get better.
Thank you for any help you can give.

EDIT 2ND JANUARY 2025
Fatty has been eating little bits often throughout the day & some suppositories have helped her pass a few small stools
