Urgent Help for Amber Miller's Family in Crisis

Update Monday 8/12

Now that we’ve had a couple days at home to process and catch our breath, I wanted to update a bit.

Kennady is doing well, all things considered. She’s been through a lot in the last two weeks and still maintains her sass and sense of humor. She has a long couple months ahead of her, as shes not yet cleared for school and has to put a hold on being physically active to prevent further injury to her internal organs.

We want to send endless thanks to those who have reached out, prayed, donated, and visited. The support from family, friends, and total strangers is just astonishing.

Update from Amber on Wednesday 8/6

UPDATE!

My girl is slowly coming back

She was able to get up and walk for the first time today!(with bribery to get a wheelchair and explore our floor after) and she was so happy!

She stole my phone and left me a few surprise selfies

No release date yet but we will be here into next week. The surgeon said by Saturday she might be able to have her tube out and sneak some birthday cake!

Thank you all for the continued prayers and well wishes as well as the cards and visits! It’s what’s keeping us going! Randy has now been discharged from the hospital.

Update from Amber Sunday evening August 4th

UPDATE ON KENNADY KAY

She was moved from the PICU today! Not completely out of the woods and may require another surgery but is being monitored very closely until that time comes (or doesn’t )

I have read her all the messages from friends, family, classmates, teammates, teachers, and coaches. She is definitely feeling the love as am I! We can’t thank you enough for your support

Urgent Appeal for Amber Miller and Family

Dear friends and community,

Our beloved friend, Amber Miller, received news from a tragic event that has been terrifying for her family. Amber, a cherished bartender at Old Town Tavern in Canal Winchester for the past decade, has been a dedicated single mom to her precious 9-year-old daughter, Kennady, who turns 10 next week. Recently engaged to Randy Ellis, they are joyfully expecting a new addition to their family in February.

On Thursday evening, Amber came home from work only to receive a call that every mother and fiancée dreads. Randy and Kennady were in a serious car accident. Kennady was life-flighted to Children’s Hospital and underwent surgery, while both Randy and Kennady are spening days in trauma units with severe spleen injuries causing major bleeding. Both remain hospitalized.

Amber is now off work with no income, as is Randy due to his injuries. The road to recovery is uncertain, and the financial strain is overwhelming. The car is also totaled, adding to their burdens.

With the help of Old Town Tavern, Amber and Randy’s friends, and their loyal customers, we are rallying together to raise funds, deliver meals, and provide gift cards to support them through this unimaginable time.
