Hello, my name is Allana Williams-Baldwin, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. My family and I have recently fallen victim to a rental scam run.

We found what we thought was our dream home — a property located at Anchestor Rd, listed on Zillow and Trulia. After meeting Mr. at the home, my husband and I decided to move forward. We paid the deposit, first month’s rent, cleaning fees, and key fees, confident everything was legitimate since he appeared to own the property.

But on our move-in day, everything fell apart. Mr. suddenly claimed to have an emergency. I later learned that eight other families had also paid him to move into the same property on the same day. We were all scammed.

This has been devastating to us. We must leave our current home by October 31st, and we’re struggling to find a new place in time. I am a mother to three Autistic children who depend on structure and routine to feel safe and continue progressing in their daily lives. Being displaced will cause an enormous emotional and developmental setback for them.

I’m asking for your help to support our family as we work to relocate and rebuild stability for our children. Any donation — big or small — will go directly toward securing a safe home, covering moving costs, and helping us start over after this painful experience.
