My name is Alicia and right now my family is in an emergency situation and greatly needs support. I would not usually ask in this way, but due to the severity of the situation right now, this is something that must be done because we are all out of options. Hopefully, this will help bring a little joy and save my family even more distress in an already difficult time.

I am still recovering from a hysterectomy, complications before/after, and some psychological issues surrounding the surgery. I am working, but I did have to end my medical leave early because we needed the money. My partner of 14 years was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis 10 years ago and her health issues makes it difficult for her to work. Because of this, she is on disability. she just had surgery on her rotator cuff in June 2024, has other complications now, and will have a hysterectomy in February 2025. We are facing an eviction from our home at this time, receiving notice during the holidays and in one of the coldest months in Massachusetts. My grandmother is 89 and was in a very bad car accident two years ago, totaling her car, and we almost lost her at that time. Financially, my partner and I have not been able to travel back home to see her since the car accident or really help support my family with her rehabilitation. My mother is also facing severe health issues in addition to having a heart that is only working at 35 percent because of heart disease. My mother has been traveling to take care of my grandmother along with my uncle and my pop because now my grandmother is at the stage where she needs round-the-clock care. But my immediate family is small, they are all elderly, most of us live far from each other and all are having health issues. My partner and I need to get home and offer some relief as well as support. Grandma has been doing her best to rehabilitate all this time, but she mentioned many times during the 2024 holidays that she feels like “this will be her last Christmas.”
