I am Alex Sgt USMC retired stranded in st Augustine Florida my wife and I were unlawfully detained and our vehicle was impoundedi have a 9 yr old service animal named Gunner who is being held in the local shelter and a rescue named Tank who was tased and is missing. On veterans day I was pulled over because I was missing the tag from my vehicle due to the fact that someone stole it off of my jeep at which point I presented the police with my license and a report sheet from the local sheriffs department stating that the vehicle belongs to me and that I was okay to operate said vehicle. My driver's license is from North Carolina and shows an expired status due to the fact that it expired during COVID according to Senate bill391 North Carolina licenses have been been extended for 2 years I was told that my vehicle was stolen and not registered to me however I've since spoken with the tow company that has my vehicle and they have assured me that the vehicle was listed as having been registered to me second to the initial confirmation that I received from the sheriff's deputy that it belongs to me. The officers were hostile towards me after I stated I was a retired Marine with PTSD and immediately took me into custody after which they continued to harass my wife and provoke my animals creating a chaotic atmosphere threatening my wife and extracting her from the vehicle stating that they were having my vehicle towed. I'm currently in contact with attorney's to assist me in this matter however being a disabled Marine I am on a fixed income and have no resources to reunite my family my wife and I are in a hotel room paid through the night. I'm asking for help to retrieve my vehicle and my service animal and retain a flood over our heads whilst we do what we can to resolve this matter thank any and everyone for your help in this matter we appreciate all prayers and blessings that we may receive from everyone thank you and God Bless you all for helping in this ordeal.
