I am an experienced long-haul transporter. I have over 50 years of experience. I recently had a surgery performed that was completely botched.
For two years, I tried to get it fixed but was unable. I drive animals coast to coast for a living: horses, mules, donkeys, etc., including high-end puppies.
recently I was driving through Montana and became extremely ill.
I had two horses and two dogs on board
- I picked up in Geyser Montana headed to Nebraska to deliver and then also pick up a few more for Florida
- when I arrived in Helena I became extremely sick. I had debilitating pain in my stomach. Unable to drive at all. I stopped at the Mavericks truck truck stop in Helena Montana at exit 190 to get pepto as well as feed, hay and water the animals. After taking care if the animals I was completely unable to function. I parked the truck and trailer to lay down. My pain level was a 12 out of 10 The truck stop attendant as me if I needed an ambulance. I was worried about my animals and wasn’t sure what to do to help them. The attendant cared for the animals until the local layover person would come pick up my truck and trailer. The attendant called the hospital. Within 15 minutes I was rushed to the hospital and was being prepped for emergency stomach surgery . I was told that if I had not gotten to the hospital when I did , I would not have survived . After 4 hours in surgery was in recovery and told I would have died had I not got to ton to the hospital. The maverick attendant saved my life.
locals helped take care of the animals and my self. My spouse and some friends came out to pick up the horses to deliver them. I am still in critical care in Helena
I have insurance but not near enough to cover my bills. Not to mention I need extra care here until I am healthy enough to get back to Texas. I am not one to request help. I have always tried to take care of everything myself. Unfortunately, this time I am in way over my head
The Dr told me today I have additional procedures to endure.
