Help a Mom Find Safety and a Fresh Start

I’m setting this up for a close friend who’s going through something no one should ever have to face. She’s a mom of young kids trying to escape an abusive home. For safety reasons, she needs to stay anonymous, but I can promise you her situation is very real — and becoming more urgent by the day.

She works full-time at a local public school and on top of that, juggles a part-time job, but after years of financial and emotional abuse, she’s been left with bills she didn’t create and very few resources. She’s been quietly saving for months, planning her exit, but things at home have gotten worse and she now needs to leave as soon as possible to protect herself and her children. Due to her safety concerns, she has had some unexpected expenses for setting up video cameras and changing locks in the home. These funds will also cover therapy costs for her children as they are really struggling with all the upheaval and trauma.

It will be months until the courts can order financial wage garnishment and county and local resources are extremely limited, especially right now with so many families in need, making it almost impossible for her to secure help on her own.

She’s one of the hardest-working and most giving people I know — always helping others, especially through her job in the school community — but right now, she needs help herself.
