I never imagined writing something like this-but right now, hundreds of animals are depending on people like us to step up.
As the founder of the Waldrup Somatic Method, my life’s work has been centered around improving the wellbeing, regulation, and recovery of dogs. I’ve spent years helping canines heal-from trauma, stress, and environments that failed them. But what we are facing right now goes far beyond any one dog, any one case, or any one organization.
With the recent shutdown of a rescue, approximately 250 dogs and 66 cats have been pulled into an already overwhelmed system. While their immediate fate may have been delayed, their future is anything but secure.
Rescues, shelters, and independent organizations are stepping in-boots on the ground-doing everything they can to prevent these animals from slipping through the cracks. But they cannot do it alone.
This isn’t just about adoption.
It’s about:
- Emergency veterinary care
- Vaccinations and medical stabilization
- Food, transport, and temporary housing
- Behavioral rehabilitation for animals under extreme stress
The sheer operational strain on organizations already running at capacity
Every single dog and cat represents a cost, a responsibility, and a life that requires care right now-not later.
As someone deeply committed to K9 wellness, I cannot stand by and watch this unfold without taking action. This is personal. These animals deserve regulation, safety, and a chance to recover-not just survive.
This fundraiser is dedicated to supporting the organizations and individuals who are stepping in when it matters most-the ones doing the hard, unglamorous, around-the-clock work to keep these animals alive and give them a real chance at a future.
If you’ve ever believed in giving dogs\cats the life they deserve… this is one of those moments where it truly counts.
We are not just raising funds.
We are buying time, care, and a second chance.
