My friend Walaa and her family of ten are currently in Gaza and I am desperately seeking your support to help them evacuate to safety. This campaign is an urgent plea to raise $150,000 to facilitate my friend and her family's evacuation to Egypt from Rafah. Below is the complete message of Walaa:

HI everyone

My name is Walaa Hijazi and I need your help.

I'm currently writing this from Rafah, the city which the military claimed is a safe zone but has been under constant bombing since October. After surviving several times from death I am left with no choice but to seek help for myself and family to evacuate Gaza.

I was born in Gaza in 1998 and have witnessed all the atrocities and wars on Gaza since then, but since October the genocide is beyond anything we have experienced before. I have lost my best friend, my university, and my memories.

The images and circumstances I have witnessed have left me with no choice but to escape. What you may see on the news or social media is my life right now. No access to food, water, electricity, medical care. We are constantly being attacked by land, sea and air, there is no safe place in Gaza even hospitals are being bombed.

I have worked hard all my life and focused on my education to become a dentist. I have finished my internship in September and was supposed to start my career as a dentist in Future Dental clinic but the war started and the clinic was bombed in October. Although I have lost everything, I haven’t lost my dream to become a dentist which is why I am writing this to you today.

Unfortunately, I cannot just evacuate from Gaza. It currently costs $5,000 USD per person to evacuate to Egypt. I have also lost my Dad's estate and family's source of income, making it impossible to leave without your help.

Day after day, I hear the news of the death of people I knew, friends and colleagues, and I don't want to be the next news. So I am kindly asking you to help me evacuate and pursue my purpose in life. Any help is appreciated, I have not lost hope and will continue to strive for a better life for me and my family while achieving my dreams.
