I am reaching out to you in a time of immense distress as my family, currently in Gaza, faces the devastating consequences of the ongoing war. Having survived multiple previous war aggressions on Gaza, they now find themselves in a perilous situation.

Since 2021, I have been separated from my family due to the war, unable to return. They are confronting insurmountable danger.

After October 7th, they were compelled to evacuate to the south, leaving behind their home in Northern Gaza with just a single backpack each as the area became increasingly unsafe. Forced to walk for miles in search of refuge, they left not only their physical residence but also cherished memories and possessions. The fate of their home remains unknown, as the area was bombed multiple times, compelling them to flee repeatedly. Their shops were also lost at the beginning of the conflict.

Each passing day sees the situation growing more grave and dangerous. Deprived of basic necessities such as water, food, clothing, bedding, and medicine, they face electricity and water cut-offs, along with frequent bombings targeting vital food sources. Communication is extremely limited, and the inability to reach them for days or even weeks leaves me devastated, affecting my work and sleep. Every day I feel paralyzed by fear and anxiety, trying to ensure their safety while they remain in constant danger.

In recent weeks, their refuge was besieged, with sniper fire and tank attacks endangering their lives. Their shelter was bombed while they were inside, and they narrowly escaped. After running for nearly an hour, they found temporary shelter, which later collapsed in the rain, leaving them without protection. Currently, they have no stable shelter and lack essential means of survival. With winter setting in, the situation becomes increasingly dire, and the trauma they endure is unbearable.

"In the midst of adversity, my family relies on this old, rusty mud oven to bake the only meal they have each day—bread. It stands as a symbol of endurance and resourcefulness.

I am initiating this fundraising campaign to support their evacuation through the Rafah/Egypt crossing, providing them with the means to escape the life-threatening conditions they are enduring. The urgency of the situation is critical, and financial assistance is required for immediate evacuation.

Breakdown of Expenses:

Visa application fees: €300 per person

Flight from Cairo to destination (one way): €650 per person

Minimum living costs: €5,000 for four months

Rafah/Egypt crossing: €8,000 per person
