Hello, my name is Katie. I am making this GFM on behalf of Drea with her permission.

Drea is an unhoused 30-year-old woman of color. She started a full-time job at the apartment complex where I live and has been struggling. Until 3 months ago, she, her father, and her dog, Bailey, lived in a rental home in North Philly. With only 2 weeks notice, her former landlord told her he had sold the house and she had to leave. Being the sole provider for her father, she had no choice but to move him and Bailey into home with a woman to whom she pays $800 a month for care. All her paychecks go to paying for their cost of living. Unfortunately, there is no additional room where her dog and father currently reside. Accordingly, she has been staying where she can. This includes outside, churches, anywhere.

Drea’s father has COPD and severe mobility issues which make it hard for him to stand and walk. He is unable to financially contribute much. There is some good news, though. Drea has found an apartment for herself and her family. However, Drea needs to raise $1,000 for the security deposit. While her landlord is willing to work with her, this amount is necessary. She needs this by the 1st of May. She is presently struggling to do so. Without this deposit, Drea will continue to experience homelessness and struggle to provide a safe environment for herself, her father, and her dog.

Drea is also looking for furniture for this apartment should she be able to raise the funds in time. If you are able to donate any basic furnishings for a home, she would be grateful.

I am asking for your help to raise $1,500 to sid with moving and living expenses.
