Hi friends, family, and kind strangers—
Deaf Dog Ariel and her human mom Sonya, we need your help to save Ariel’s life!
2 weeks ago, we went to the vet for her checkup and she in good health. Last week, I noticed a bump on her front right leg. 2 days ago the vet checked it. It is a mast cell tumor.
The cost for the surgery and the care that comes with it is $4000-$5000. This total is if all goes well and nothing new comes up which would increase the amount needed. This includes the procedure itself, pre-op testing, medications, and post-op recovery and follow ups. I am doing everything I can, but I simply do not have the funds to cover this in time. I will need to take a couple days off of work to be there for her. It is right before summer which makes it even more challenging on a limited teachers salary. I been looking for a 2nd job but nothing has come up yet.
I am asking for help so we can schedule this surgery as soon as possible and give her the best chance while catching this tumor early.
About Ariel: she is 8 years old, Australian & German Shepherd, she was born Deaf (same as her siblings) from the Merle Gene which causes deafness. She is an amazing dog who misses nothing with her sharp blue eyes. She knows what ASL signs mean and she so smart! Ariel loves the outdoors and is my hiking buddy! She picked me to be her human mom! She and I have been together for 4 years. Help me save her!
If you are able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much. It helps us reach people who might be able to help.
I will post updates along the way so you can follow Ariel’s journey and recovery. Thank you for taking the time to read this, for caring about my best friend, and for helping us give her a chance. If you have any questions or would prefer to send funds differently, message me or can be reached at i-s-a-r-m.
Hint-see the word D….r under my name.
With love and gratitude,
Sonya and Ariel
