A group of Ocala Paso horses, including 9 stallions, 6 mares, and 1 gelding, were recently taken in by Rainbows Edge Inc after being removed from a severe neglect situation. While the rescue itself has taken place, the reality is that the work and the cost of care is just beginning.
This is when the Marion County Sheriff's Office brought the horses to the vet after they were seized.
This situation was part of one of the largest horse rescue efforts in the state of Florida and was covered by local news:

Dozens of horses were found underweight and in need of immediate care, and local rescues stepped in to help. Many of these horses arrived needing consistent care, proper nutrition, and time to recover.
Taking in stallions, in particular, requires additional resources, space, and careful management to ensure their safety and well being.
Since bringing these horses in, the rescue has taken on significant expenses. Veterinary care, farrier services, proper nutrition, and daily care are ongoing needs. In addition, new shelter and accommodations had to be put in place quickly to house them safely.
Any improvements made, including building barns or shelter, are solely for the care and protection of the horses and do not personally benefit those running the rescue.
The financial impact has been substantial, and the need for support is ongoing as these horses continue their recovery and begin to stabilize.
Rainbows Edge Inc is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operating entirely through volunteers and donations. Every dollar goes directly toward the care of the horses, and the land they live on is owned by the horses through the nonprofit.
The cost of care adds up quickly across 16 horses, including 9 stallions, 6 mares, and 1 gelding.
• Veterinary care and rehabilitation
• Feed and nutritional support
• Farrier services
• Shelter and facility needs
• Ongoing daily care
Even basic care for one horse can cost hundreds of dollars per month, and many of these horses require intensive rehabilitation after neglect.
Our goal of $50,000 will help cover the immediate and ongoing care needed to give these horses a real chance at recovery.
Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps ensure these horses continue to receive the care they need.
Donations from this fundraiser will go directly to Rainbows Edge Inc to support the ongoing care of these horses.
