Hi everyone,

My name is Ashton, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for one of the kindest, most generous people I know… my best friend Ashley.

November 2024, Ashley suffered a stroke that turned his world upside down. Last December, an MRI revealed the terrifying cause: a large internal cranial aneurysm (a balloon-like bulge in a weakened blood vessel) deep inside his brain.

For the past year, doctors have monitored it closely with MRIs every three months. Instead of shrinking, the aneurysm has continued to grow, putting Ashley at constant risk of rupture. A situation that could be fatal.

In October, Ashley underwent an angiogram in the hopes that a less invasive repair would be possible. Unfortunately, the results showed that open-brain surgery is now the only safe option.

The surgery will take place in Saskatoon (several hours from home). Ashley has to travel there tomorrow December 12th) for his pre-operative assessment, stay in the city until the surgery on Monday, and then remain in the hospital for at least one week. After discharge, he’ll need multiple follow-up appointments, all requiring more trips to Saskatoon.

Ashley’s next few months include:
• Major brain surgery with a long and delicate recovery
• A minimum of 3 months where he is unable to work, drive (he’ll lose his licence for at least three months), or do almost anything physically demanding
• He is currently enrolled in school to advance his education, and this surgery will force him to pause those dreams temporarily
• Regular travel between home and Saskatoon for pre-op, surgery, hospital stay, and follow-ups
• Hotel costs in Saskatoon for the gap between pre-op and surgery, and for his partner Kseniya, to stay close by while he’s recovering in hospital
• Ongoing bills, rent, utilities, groceries, and basic living expenses while he has zero income for at least three months

Ashley has always been the friend who drops everything to help someone in need. Whether it was lending a hand, offering a ride, or just being there with a smile and a listening ear. He has never hesitated to go out of his way for others, unless he is in the middle of a Call of Duty match. He has been there for me, more times than I can count. Now, when he needs us the most, it’s our turn to show up for him.

Every single dollar will go directly toward:
• Travel and fuel costs to and from Saskatoon
• Hotel stays before, during, and after the hospital stay
• Basic living expenses (rent, utilities, groceries) while he’s unable to work
• Any unexpected medical or recovery-related costs

This surgery is Ashley’s chance at survival and a full life, but the financial burden is overwhelming. Anything you can give (even $5 or $10) will make a real difference and help ease the stress so he can focus 100% on healing.

Please consider donating and sharing this page with your friends and family. Your kindness, prayers, and shares mean the world to Ashley and everyone who loves him.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

With gratitude,
Ashton & everyone who loves Ashley
