I am organising this fundraiser on behalf of my friend Ajay Rimal, the Principal of Superb Catalyst Academy (SCA) in Khanikhola, Nepal. I am a former volunteer of the school, and Ajay has reached out for support during an incredibly difficult time for his family as they navigate a medical crisis that requires resources far beyond their reach.
A Legacy of Service and Art
The Rimal family’s impact on Nepal’s education system is profound. Their father, the late Raji Prasad Rimal, was a true pioneer- a forerunner of English medium schools in the Dhading district. He was a dedicated servant of his community, founding the Jwalamukhi Primary School to ensure local children had a future, and was a gifted fine arts painter.
His son, Amar (Amber) Rimal, has spent his life carrying that torch forward. A former teacher at Jwalamukhi, Amar is a celebrated fine arts painter and has been a dedicated member of the Leo Clubs (the youth partner of Lions Clubs International) for ten years, following his family's tradition of service.
Tragically, Raji Prasad passed away following a battle with throat cancer. Today, history is threatening to repeat itself.
The Current Crisis
Amar (Amber) Rimal, 52, is a permanent resident of Dhunibeshi-8, Khanikhola, and a former teacher at the very school his father founded. Like his father and his brother Ajay, Amar has dedicated his life to the classroom.
Recently, Amar was diagnosed with Stage 3 Mouth Cancer.
The situation is critical. To ensure Amar receives the care he needs, Ajay has had to step back from the daily management of Superb Catalyst Academy, handing over operations to Bina Rimal as administrator so he can focus entirely on his brother’s treatment and survival.

The cost of specialised cancer care in Nepal- including surgery, chemotherapy, and hospital stays- is an insurmountable burden for a family that has given so much to others. We are seeking to raise $5,000 USD (approximately £3,960 GBP) to cover these life-saving medical expenses.
