Seeking Urgent Support to Escape Abusive Situation and Secure Safe Housing

My name is Alyxander Martinez, and I am a 21-year-old transgender male. For the past fourteen years, since I was just seven, I have been living in an unspeakable nightmare. My adoptive father has been sexually abusing me, creating a constant environment of fear and trauma.

Despite reaching out for help, I have received little to no support from Child Protective Services. In my desperate attempts to escape this abuse, I have experienced homelessness four times – twice in 2023 and again in 2024. During one of these periods of homelessness last year, I contracted COVID-19 and a severe lower lung infection that nearly took my life, tragically forcing me to return to the abuse simply to have shelter.

The abuse I've endured extends beyond the sexual violence. My father was physically abusive throughout my childhood, and I now live with the profound impact on my mental health. I have been professionally diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder (DID), complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and bipolar 1.

Adding to these challenges, I also suffer from celiac disease, inappropriate sinus tachycardia (IST), and epilepsy. Tragically, these medical and mental health diagnoses have led to repeated denials from shelters, as I am seen as a "liability."

Currently, I am working a part-time job for 14 hours a week at $16.50 an hour as a sales representative. While I am in therapy bi-weekly, the constant threats, intimidation, and ongoing sexual abuse from my father, who also exhibits verbally aggressive and narcissistic behaviors, are severely hindering my progress and healing.

My immediate and critical need is to secure safe and stable housing so I can finally escape this abusive environment and begin to heal. The funds raised through this GoFundMe will be used solely for securing housing while I work towards finding more stable and full-time employment.
