URGENT- Help a Gazan Family seek Asylum in Turkey

Donation protected
Hello friends! A family friend of mine (who cannot be named for his safety) in Gaza has been desperately seeking a way out of Gaza to provide for his family and eventually take them out of Gaza and get away from the terror and anguish of living in a box which rains missiles - however, given the terrible political and economical circumstances it is nearly impossible to apply for asylum ANYWHERE without first leaving Gaza. Fortunately, he has acquired a visa to visit Turkey - upon his arrival at the port of entry he can then claim asylum in Istanbul or to be referred by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to seek asylum in Canada from an office in Istanbul (as the office in Tel-Aviv, "Israel" is inaccessible by those within the walls of the Palestinian Authority). Once he is granted asylum, his wife and two children will also be granted familial refugee statuses in the supporting country and they will also be able to leave Gaza. Now as some of you may be aware, the Rafah crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip has been open temporarily which means it is relatively easy to leave Gaza at the moment which we are trying to take advantage of before they decide to close the borders... we just need to help our Palestinian brother transport from the Rafah crossing to Cairo International Airport and a ticket to Istanbul. The total expenses amount to roughly $1600.. This fundraiser has the ability to change a family's life, please consider sacrificing the Tim Hortons you might buy this week and put it towards this cause!
