Norma Jean and Alley were both left on the street by their owners who didn’t care if they lived or died. I made a promise to make sure they are given the gold standard of care from here on out, and I hope you can help me raise the funds to do that.
Norma Jean and Alley are both about four years old and they have very loud heart murmurs.
They are both overweight from a lifetime of poor nutrition and zero veterinary care, and they both require echocardiograms every 6-12 months to see what condition their hearts are in and if they need to start medication for heart disease.
Alley was not fixed when I found her on the street in Red Hook a few weeks ago, and due to her heart condition, it cost $500 to spay her, using special anesthesia. She is also now on atenolol for her heart condition.
Norma Jean had a stomach bug and couldn’t keep down any food for a few days, so she also went to the vet for X-rays, and that bill was $750. She now on a rx diet and medication for her blood pressure and thyroid, which costs me $175 per month
The echocardiograms, plus consultation with a cardiologist, cost about $1K each. I am hoping to raise $5K to cover a portion of this care and follow-up appointments.
Thank you so much for the support! As an independent rescuer without monthly donors, medical cases like this can be crippling. I am so appreciative of the cat loving community for helping me to keep doing this work and saving as many lives as possible.
