We are reaching out with heavy hearts to share the challenges our parents, Scott and Julie Stafslien, are facing. In July 2023, our mom Julie was diagnosed with stage four clear renal cell carcinoma, a battle she is bravely fighting. Meanwhile, our dad Scott has been dealing with ongoing health issues that have left him unable to work since October 2023 due to multiple surgeries, complications, and new medical diagnoses culminating in his termination from Organic Valley in September 2024, and along with it, the insurance which both parents relied on for cancer treatments and other health care benefits. Not only will they lose their insurance, they have also lost both incomes, which as you can imagine is a devastating blow to their financial situation and morale.

The good news is that they can keep the insurance as long as they pay the hefty $1,200 payment per month (which they hope to do through the help of this fundraiser) until they can be eligible for other healthcare options.

As they navigate this difficult journey, they urgently need immediate support to cover medical bills and maintain their current insurance while waiting for disability benefits to begin. We, their daughters, Betsy and Haley, and our spouses are starting this GoFundMe to help keep them on their feet.
