Hello, my name is Nada, and I am from Houston.

We started this GoFundMe campaign to support my dear friend Dalia and her family as they face incredibly difficult circumstances and try, despite everything they have endured, to hold on to hope and build a better future for their children.

Dalia is my friend from Gaza. She is a mathematics teacher and a talented embroidery artist. Before the war, she lived a life filled with hope and ambition. Her husband, a civil engineer, was also close to completing his graduate studies.

Their dreams were simple and beautiful: a safe and stable life, and a brighter future for their three children—a ten-year-old daughter and seven-year-old twins.

But the war changed everything.

Dalia reflects:

“Material losses seem small compared with the intangible losses—the memories that can never be replaced, erased without mercy. The echoes of laughter, shared moments, and the warmth of our home have disappeared, leaving behind a painful emptiness amid the destruction.”

The family endured bombardment and displacement. They were forced to leave their home , where they faced bitter cold, rain, and extremely difficult living conditions.

Even when they sought refuge in a United Nations school, they could not escape the dangers and suffering of war.

They experienced shortages of food and medicine, while the prices of even the most basic necessities rose beyond what they could afford. Every passing day brought a new challenge, and simply meeting their basic needs became increasingly difficult

Still, Dalia and her family did everything they could to survive and endure.

Asking for help has never been easy for them. They have always been accustomed to relying on themselves and working hard to provide for their family. But the circumstances they face today have gone beyond what they can manage alone.

One of their most urgent needs now is securing a safe and stable home and being able to afford their rent.

Since the war began, Dalia’s husband has lost his job because of the war, leaving the family without the stable income they once relied on. With three children to care for and the cost of basic necessities continuing to rise, paying the rent has become a heavy burden

After everything the children have already experienced—the fear, displacement, and uncertainty—they deserve a safe place where they can sleep peacefully and begin to rebuild a sense of normality.

We hope to help the family cover their housing costs and basic needs while they work toward rebuilding their lives.

Another urgent need is education for the children.

Dalia’s children are eager to return to school. They want to carry their backpacks, open their books, learn, and have the opportunity to grow and dream like other children.

They are not asking for anything extraordinary.

They simply want a chance—to learn, to dream, and to grow up knowing that they have a future they can work toward.

For them, education is about much more than school fees, books, and supplies. It is a way to reclaim a part of their childhood that has been taken from them and to give them something positive to hold on to amid all this pain.

Every day of education is a step toward a future in which they can become independent, pursue their dreams, and build lives of their own.

At the same time, Dalia’s husband is very close to completing his master’s degree.

After years of studying, hard work, and dedication, he has only a few remaining steps before he can receive his degree. However, the remaining costs have become a heavy financial burden for the family under their current circumstances.

For him, this degree is more than just a certificate. It represents years of hard work, dedication, and hope—and a step toward creating better opportunities for his family in the future.

That is why we are asking for your support with three essential needs: a safe and stable home, the children’s education, and the final steps toward completing Dalia’s husband’s master’s

degree.

We understand that everyone has their own circumstances and responsibilities, so any support, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference.
