Piyalli, my name is Chino. I am an Indigenous community organizer in the twin cities and have been working alongside our strong neighbors in protecting our vulnerable communities.
I am raising immediate funds on behalf of a minor, Enrique, who has been forcefully separated from his father for over a month.
On New Years day, Enrique waited for his father to come home in the morning from an overnight snow-plowing shift. His father was not responding to his texts or calls, and he never came home. Enrique learned that afternoon that federal agents conducted a warrantless abduction of both his father and uncle while they were working. Enrique has no other caretakers in the US, and is currently being taken care of by community. We need upfront legal funds for a habeas corpus petition to fight for the chance of seeing Enrique and his dad reunite.
We are trying to raise these funds before his first court appearance next week to ensure we have enough time for the filing and processing of this legal petitioning. We hope to reach 6K by the end of the week. Please support by donating and sharing to your circles. Anything you can financially offer helps!
I know we are witnessing an overwhelming amount of need everyday. I trust in our ability as a community to meet all asks with abundance.
Tlazohkamati huel miak, Much gratitude,
Chino
