URGENT- HELP ME GET TESTING THAT CAN SAVE MY LIFE. INITIAL GOAL IS 1,500 DOLLARS, ULTIMATE GOAL IS 50,000 DOLLARS

Hello, everyone. I'm Sofia, a 26 year old girl who has a devastating terminal illness called ALS (Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis). It's a progressive disease that slowly paralyzes the body until death. To give you some idea of the toll it takes on the human body, it may help to know that it's the same disease that Stephen Hawking had. Essentially, you lose everything in your life that you had once taken for granted. My current prognosis is three years, and very soon, I won't even be able to walk anymore. In addition to this tragic development, I also have an eight year old son who I have to care for. This would all be overwhelmingly devastating if it weren't for some hopeful research that's been accumulated in recent years. There's a theory that ALS is caused by Borrelia bacteria. We have found doctors that have a special test that detects borrelia, and the doctors who administer this test are saying there's an 85% chance that my life can be saved or improved if we find out that borrelia is causing my ALS. The testing will cost 1,575 dollars, which will be an outofpocket expense for us. I currently live in Carthage, Texas, and I'll need to travel to either Washington DC, New York, or Florida in order to receive the treatments that can ameliorate my challenges. I'm also going to need financial help in order to renovate my house in order to make it handicapaccessible. We'll also need a vehicle that is handicapaccessible, or a van that has a lift. Travel money will be important, as well, as well as money for any additional treatments and medicine. We have medicaid, but we're not sure if testing and treatment from outofstate will be covered, and we need to go outofstate for testing and treatment. Essentially, it's looking like I may need up to 50,000 dollars in financial assistance in order to save my life

I'm not giving up on myself. I'm a young woman with potential. These developments were unexpected, and they're devastating, but I have an entire lifetime of happiness and opportunity to enjoy.
