Anyone who's ever met Gandalf knows what a sweet, lively guy he is. We've been through thick and thin together -- he means the entire world to me.
Yesterday, at a routine vet appointment, he had an incident after a blood draw. He collapsed, and immediately started experiencing respiratory distress. At first the vets thought he was experiencing a vasovagal episode, and that he would recover within a few hours. He didn't get better despite supportive care, and was showing signs of a possible cardiac event.
He stayed in an emergency vet overnight in Denver, where he started to improve until this morning, when his condition took another nosedive. It is still unclear what is going on exactly to cause this extreme response. There are many blood tests, ultrasounds, oxygen treatments, x rays, and even a possible blood transfusion at play, and the medical bills have already become astronomical. We are in the midst of preparing to move back to Arizona; I do not have a guarantee of employment yet, and was relying on my last paycheck for April and savings to get us through this transition period. My savings have been wiped clean, and we are not out of the woods yet. I would do anything for him, but these bills are simply more than we can afford. So I humbly ask for donations to help dig us out of this very unexpected debt. Anything at all to put a chip in this life changing event makes a difference ❤️
