Hello, my name is Charlyn Green. I‘m a private piano instructor/music professional raising funds in order to catch up with monthly bills and expenses which are coming due, one of which has reached the “final notice” stage.

I experienced an unexpected drop in business due to two major events-the shutdown due to the Covid pandemic, and more recently, the SAG/Writers Guild strike. It has been a major struggle to fully recover financially from both. I am a based in Los Angeles, and had a thriving business offering lessons in my clients homes until the shutdown in 2019/21. During that time I started my online business and various “side-hustles”, and was able to switch some of my clientele to online lessons and even gained new ones, but struggled to make it on considerably less income, while the cost of living rose higher. Once things opened up again, I returned to doing most lessons in person. My clientele was increasing, but then dropped again as several of my clients are in the entertainment industry and stopped taking lessons, while they were out of work due to the SAG/Writers strike. I was also temporarily unable to teach during that time, due to an injury to my hand, and subsequently have had high co-pay expenses for medical treatment.

Donations will be used to help me recover, avoid late fees and keep away the collection agencies. Then, I can get back on track towards having a studio space for teaching piano.
