Urgent Funds for Place to Stay

URGENT: Update Saturday June 14

$3,800 minimum required today to secure property & ensure continuity of safety & stability for Juniper

Juniper has been able to arrange with their current property manager (who is very safe, caring and kind) to stay in a newly available suitable property close to where they are now. This shall minimize disruption, and mean Juniper can maintain the stability and safety they currently have. The property has a higher cost, but they've worked with the property manager to negotiate a significant discount to make the property more accessible. It may not be quite the same price as they've been paying, but it'll be as close as possible. They're already struggling to fundraise for their current property, so they are trying to avoid any significant increases. As of today, Juniper has $200 toward the cost of securing the property for the next several months. They still need a total of $3,800 today, Saturday June 14, which covers them through mid-July and secures the property for the next 4 months while they regain stability & work toward the longer-term move. We are not yet certain how much their monthly payments shall be, we are waiting for confirmation of this. The amount for today is a little higher as the first payment is always a little higher when first securing the property.

This amount is required ASAP today, Saturday June 14 so Juniper can secure the property, as they have just 4 days before they need to move. The latest they can receive the funds is Sunday June 15.

Juniper's immediate situation

Due to not receiving sufficient contributions last month to cover their rent in June, Juniper is now having to leave their home in a few days. They were due to move long-distance in August, and had intended to remain in their home until that time. However, they have had to hand over their current property as they were unable to make a full rental payment at the beginning of the month, and new tenants are now moving in later this week. Juniper now has to move out this weekend and they need to secure a place for the next several months.

Their long-distance move has had to be postponed due to a lack of donor support and because this unexpected loss of their current home has significantly disrupted their stability, their capacity, and their plans.

They also needed suitcases and clothing, which were added to the fundraiser total. These have now been purchased with the first $700 raised, so Juniper now has clothing and 3 small suitcases. While these 3 small suitcases are sufficient for this immediate move (although they'll have to downsize considerably), they'll need a lot more suitcases for their long-distance move.

With very limited time, disruption to their stability and fundraising schedule, and not having the finances to book another property, this has put Juniper in an extremely vulnerable position and they require contributions urgently.

As those of you who support Juniper may know, finding suitable properties is an almost impossible task, as the mass property market just doesn't cater for Juniper's needs.

Thankfully, their very kind property manager has found and offered Juniper one suitable rental that they can move to close by. It costs $4,200 through the beginning of July, including the initial extra cost for securing the property.

(A total of 4% has been added to the fundraising goal to cover GoFundMe's processing fees.)

Juniper is relying on this fundraiser to meet this need, which is absolutely essential for their safety and wellbeing. Without these funds, Juniper won't have a place to stay, and they'll lose everything that is currently keeping them safe. This would put Juniper in an extremely unsafe and vulnerable situation that we cannot allow to happen and which is totally avoidable with sufficient contributions.

Juniper lives with sensitivities that significantly impact their every day life. Suitable properties are extraordinarily rare, and Juniper faces very high levels of discrimination and prejudice, which frequently leads to maltreatment and other forms of harm, which can escalate into very serious situations very quickly. Juniper is alone, and reliant on sufficient finances and safe familiar people for their safety.

A kind reminder that Juniper is very isolated and doesn't have a community or network or safety net besides this fundraiser to fall back on. They're relying on this goal being met on time for their safety and wellbeing. They have been through so much and had such little support. They absolutely and thoroughly deserve to have this goal met a thousand times over.
